Operations Project Manager (Fixed Term)

North West Cambridge Development

Salary: £34,956 - £46,924 pa

North West Cambridge Development is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to join their Operations Team as the Operations Project Manager on a fixed term basis.  The Operations Team is responsible for developing and implementing the Operations Launch of the new district of Cambridge known as the North West Cambridge Development. 

The North West Cambridge Development is the largest single capital project that the University of Cambridge has undertaken in its 800-year history.  The development includes 3,000 homes (50% 'key worker' housing, available for qualifying University and Colleges employees), 2,000 post-graduate student spaces, 100,000 sqm of research space, a local centre and community facilities including a primary school, nursery, doctors' surgery, supermarket and retail units, as well as all of the site-infrastructure and landscaping for the scheme. The development has been designed as an extension to the city, with an urban rather than suburban grain and will be of the highest design quality as well as being an exemplar of sustainable living.

As part of the Operations team you will provide Project Management advice and support in ensuring that all components of the operational site are brought online in a planned and co-ordinated way.  The role holder will be required to provide an effective and efficient interface between operations and construction to ensure that both activities are fully supported and logistically sound at all times.

The ideal candidate will be educated to at degree level in a building related subject. You should have excellent organisational and communication skills along with significant expertise in Facilities Management. You should have knowledge and experience of new development start-ups, preferably covering both new businesses and new residential site occupation.  This is an exciting opportunity to develop a Facilities Management career on an exemplary, diverse and rapidly expanding estate.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 5 years in the first instance.
