Al-Khair Foundation is a UK registered charity working to deliver humanitarian and development projects worldwide. The Facilities Department (consisting of 6 staff currently) and based in Croydon, CR0, is responsible for all facilities management, health and safety and premises aspects of the organisation’s work and its local environment within the UK. The portfolio currently consists of 15 premises, including 3 offices, 6 shops, 3 schools and 3 TV studios.

We are looking for a School Caretaker to be responsible for the security, safety, cleanliness and general maintenance of Al-Khair Primary School in Croydon. The post-holder will have previous experience working within a school as a caretaker and will be used to carrying out a variety of different duties in facilities, amenities and health and safety activities to ensure a safe and comfortable environment is provided.

Normal school hours are from 8.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, and term-time is 35 weeks per year. This is a full-time vacancy and as the registered main key holder, the School Caretaker is expected to open / close, unlock and lock school gates and buildings each day and be available to attend the school out of hours to deal with security issues, make emergency repairs or allow access to contractors who may be required on site.
