Commercial Enterprise Business Manager

We are now looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial manager to ensure we make the most of the exciting commercial possibilities our new space offers. We want you to be driven and focused on generating income in a mission-driven organisation, with a track record of establishing successful commercial operations which sit comfortably within a charity or social enterprise’s broader goals and value set. Our key assets are spaces – for events, meetings, conferences and other commercial hire. So an understanding of excellent customer service and sales in this context would help. But essentially we are looking for someone who can see opportunities, understand the risks and constraints, identify a clear strategy, and work quickly and dynamically to turn ideas into commercial reality.

About you

Are you the right person to fill that page, get income coming in for the Charity straight away and grow a sustainable new venue hire business to support Toynbee Hall’s future?

We need a viable plan that makes best use of the Halls from June 2018, ensuring the required levels of revenue are generated and bringing footfall to our space.  This needs to be realised in parallel with the other activities on site; primarily the activities associated with opening of our heritage exhibition in the Halls and the continued construction works around us.

We want you to take a lead in developing and tailioring a clear offer; marketing and resourcing the space; generating significant commercial revenue; building long term partnerships. 

You’ll need strong business planning skills, excellent project and risk management; first class relationship building skills, along with the ability to close a sale. Most of all you’ll need want to make a game changing contribution as part of a strong and dedicated team within this vital charity.

This work will cast the foundation for ensuring high quality experience for our visitors, people using our services and staff, which is in-line with Toynbee Hall’s core values of Open – Bold – Enquiring.
