This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the management and ongoing development of the estate at St Edward’s Oxford to ensure the School continues to be a first-class learning environment. 

The School has recently embarked on a number of capital projects, including new buildings, renovations and improvements. As the Deputy Estates Bursar, you will support and work alongside the Estates Bursar to deliver these projects and to continue the ongoing management of the estate.

The role will require working ‘in the field’ as well as in the Estates office. With a focus on supporting and facilitating the School’s strategic plan for significant development of the School estate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing planning, communication and implementation of appropriate works and implementing an effective planned works schedule
  • Reviewing, developing and implementing processes for tendering and engaging external contractors and advisers for planned works
  • Building trusted and supportive relationships with colleagues and work with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to the operation of the School
  • Working closely with the School’s Health and Safety Adviser to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree or recognised professional qualification in a building services related discipline or extensive equivalent experience, along with significant project management experience and a good understanding of estates engineering.

RICS membership or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
