Contracts and Performance Manager

Kingston University Service Company Ltd (KUSCO) was formed in 1997 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kingston University.   It provides a range of facilities management services to the University.   KUSCO supports a diverse range of buildings and occupations across a multi-site estate ranging from a leafy campus at Kingston Hill, to the main Kingston upon Thames Penrhyn Road campus and prestigious museum and conferencing facilities at Dorich House overlooking Richmond Park.

KUSCO is unusual in that it is a hybrid organisation. As a limited company sitting under a higher education umbrella it seeks to take advantage of the commercial freedoms available to it by operating as a private sector organisation, whilst aligning its objectives wholly to support its only client Kingston University.   KUSCO aims to provide first class FM services at a commercially competitive price.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a new role designed to ensure the management of service delivery contracts which account for circa £5.5 Million p.a. is treated with the gravitas it demands. The role will include the management of traditional maintenance related contracts as well as several high-profile service contracts delivered by third party organisations. These contracts will include but not be limited to catering, transport, student accommodation and all maintenance framework contracts.  In addition, the Contracts and Performance Manager will lead the minor works programme ensuring that a diverse range of estate improvement projects are delivered to quality, timescale and budgetary expecations.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in strategic planning, costing, budgeting in addition to implementation of initiatives for new services. They will provide leadership to the team members, maintaining focus on the departmental and University wide strategic goals so strong commercial expertise is essential.  You will be an individual who thrives on working in ‘best in class’ environments where you can really make a difference. This is a senior management post that will make a real impact on the future student experience across the campuses.
