We currently have a vacancy for a Regional Facilities Manager which reports to the Head of Facilities Management and forms part of the Workplace Services Management Team.
Workplace Services operate an outsourced model (with a small retained intelligent client team) and you will be dealing with the end customers and supply partners to ensure that there is a seamless benchmark delivery of services.
As a Regional Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for maximising value to BAE Systems, reducing operating costs and maximising the business unit’s competitive position, through the effective and efficient management of building facilities working strategically and collaboratively with our customers, suppliers and other parts of the organisation.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to manage the BAE Systems Defence Infrastructure (DI) Customer Account with main sites currently at Christchurch and Yeovil.
The role may be based at Christchurch, Yeovil or Frimley and will involve regular travel to sites within the South West.
Your main responsibilities as a Regional Facilities Manager will involve:
Ensuring that the Workplace Services suppliers are delivering services in line with agreed service levels
Primary responsibility for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with our customers, identifying and initiating innovative service delivery excellence methods that are in line with our customers wider business objectives
Accountability for effective budget management and financial planning
Providing guidance, support and expertise to our customers as well as identifying and mobilising new service lines
Working with customers, identifying financial requirements and providing advice on how these can be achieved, liaising with supply partners and internal teams as required to meet these targets
Accountability for the delivery of projects for the sites you are responsible for (in conjunction with the Project Teams)
Working closely with the Head of Facilities Management, Subject Matter Experts, Suppliers, and the Wider Real Estate Solutions Management Team to help develop the Real Estate Solutions culture and philosophy of providing a customer focused, seamless, one stop service aligned with our customers’ business objectives, vision and strategy
Your skills and qualifications:
Experience of managing large complex sites and Facilities Management delivery
Previous, quantifiable track record of delivering significant cost savings across an outsourced Facilities Management operation whilst maintaining and improving service levels
A strong leader with the ability to constantly review working practices, evaluate and manage change within a single site/multi-site environment
Project and budget management experience
HNC Building Services or similar
Member of a relevant technical institution, such as BIFM, IIE, RICS, CIOB
NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable)
City & Guilds or equivalent in Legionella, Asbestos and fire management (desirable)

You will have the ability to form and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the organisation and relevant external enforcement and advisory agencies. You will show a demonstrable appreciation of disciplines other than core skills to assist the successful integration and functioning of the facilities environment. You will have the ability to use appropriate IT systems and packages to enhance quality of work, with a detailed knowledge of databases, spread sheets and web-based systems to use as tools to monitor performance of highly complex and diverse issues.
Location: Christchurch, Yeovil or Frimley with regular travel within the South West (Company car will be provided)
