Large Local Authority in the East Midlands region
This senior level post is vacant on a permanent basis and an Interim is required to manage and be responsible for delivering the planning and natural environment service in order for the Local Authority to fulfil its statutory town and country planning responsibilities. There is a particular emphasis on minerals and waste sectors. You will be managing the corporate coordination, delivery, policy formulation and implementation. As budget holder you will be responsible for managing the service's finances.
You will have be degree qualified and be a member of the RTPI, and have extensive demonstrable experience in Town and Country planning, particularly in relation to the mineral and waste sector. You will have significant in depth knowledge of planning policy and development management in general and particularly to mineral and waste planning. An experience manager and leader you will have competencies in staff appraisals and development. You have a high level awareness of the political environment within which the service and council operate and be able to communicate positively and confidently with senior officers and the public at large.
This is a senior level interim post and as such will attract a highly competitive day rate or hourly rate.
