Generating billions every year from the taxes and duties collected from members of the public and businesses, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) secures the finances needed for the nation’s public services. Furthermore, we provide targeted support to people who need financial assistance – so it is vitally important that our staff have access to the facilities they need to do their jobs to a high standard. As such, we are currently in the midst of a hugely ambitious £450million investment in our estate, in which we are migrating our entire work force to new state-of-the-art regional centres that have been designed to establish HMRC as one of the world’s leading tax authorities.

Joining us in this exciting venture – the biggest Government property relocation programme in Europe – you will bring your facilities management (FM) expertise to the table, supporting the delivery of exceptional Hard and Soft customer-focussed FM services. You will ensure direct services and those being provided by delivery partners are meeting standards by developing strong supplier relationships and monitoring their performance.

As an inclusive and diverse team, we welcome applications from all backgrounds. We nurture a supportive and welcoming environment, so you will excel in this team if you have good supplier management and technical knowledge, with the financial judgement to ensure value-for-money is being achieved. With a BIFM level-4 qualification (or committed to achieving this within two years), we will expect you to have great people and contractor management capabilities, and you have the capacity to inspire the best results from service suppliers. If you have a strong customer service ethos, you can expect:

  • 22 days of annual leave (increasing on a sliding scale to 30 days), plus 8 public holidays
  • Access to a generous contributory pension scheme
  • Excellent maternity and paternity pay, which is notably more than the statutory minimum
  • Childcare benefits
  • Interest-free travel loan
  • On-site facilities including fitness centres and staff canteens (where applicable)
  • And much more
