A resilient Head of Engineering Services to join one of the largest FM providers in the UK (Porton Down).

Services include: asset management and maintenance, workplace design, mechanical and electrical engineering, information technology (IT) and reactive building maintenance.

Your new role

As Head of Engineering Services for a major client, you must be a natural leader with the gravitas to influence engineering/project managers. Working hours: 40/week - Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Job purpose:

To direct and lead engineering and project activities for the client, ensuring cost effective and timely delivery of all operational obligations including project activities and service provisions, whilst at the same time introducing operational efficiencies through process improvements and innovation in order to satisfy customer need and deliver profitable sustainable results.

Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that engineering services are functioning effectively. Where appropriate, advise on changes and their implementation, provide training, coaching, mentoring, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve engineering excellence and their full potential.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal person will be a determined individual and Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer combined with a degree in a relevant engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent and a member of a relevant professional body e.g. IET, CIBSE, IHEEM IMechE etc.

You must have a proven track record of working at a Senior Engineering Operations Level responsible for full profit and loss of complex FM Accounts, ideally gained within a regulated, manufacturing and high security environment. It will be a huge advantage to have a thorough knowledge of outsourced facilities services within the UK, including hard FM service lines and directly delivered complex projects including M&E, building and civils activities.
